En tehnyt kovin jyrkkiä kurveja, jotta ompelu olisi helpompaa.
Ylimääräinen kapea suikale pois. Piirsin pariin kohtaan merkit, jotta neulaukset osuvat oikeaan paikkaan.
Kiva tätä oli tehdä, vaikkei nyt nopeimmasta ja yksinkertaisimmasta päästä ollutkaan, eikä tietysti aina tarvikkaan. Mukavaa viikonloppua!
This is the #wavediamondquilt which I have been making along the fall. Now it's finished and I can show it to you. I got an idea from a blue scrap box and almost all the other fabrics are scraps too.
I like quilts which look different depending how you fold it.
The backing is made of fabrics which have been lying in my stash for too long time.
I took some pictures of how I made the diamonds. I know it's possible to sew curves without pins but I like to use few so the top is smoother.
At the beginning I wasn't sure how to arrange diamond blocks, I tried different options. The seam against the center of the other block looked the best.
I have been sewing a lot and I know how important is to avoid stretching when ironing and handling this kind of quilt. However I wasn't exact enough and it caused slight waving to the edges. It doesn't matter when you use it as a quilt but if you put it on the wall, the edges must be straight.
The dark part has a black binding and the light part has a light blue one.
Quilting is also wavy from corner to corner. It's still possible to add more quilting to it but somehow I like the liveliness it has now.
This was a fun quilt to make. Not the fastest and the easiest one but why should it always be.
Have a nice weekend!
